During spring 2009, Hans Kortekaas invited us to come to Mazarron. The market situation was favorable for investigating the purchase of properties. Hans listened to our wishes and advised us of the market and its possibilities. After seeing a couple of properties, we had decided to make an offer. After a day of negotiating, we could proudly call ourselves owners of a Spanish home.
We have called our home Casa Féliz. Féliz means luck and this is exactly what you will experience and feel at the Costa Calida.

Besides knowledge of the housing market, Hans also knows how to get around in Spain and how to handle Spanish customs. You will feel relieved that he is always ready to answer your questions and to provide help through his network.
At the moment Casa Féliz is more than our luck. We have put up our home for rent on our website www.huizegeluk.com. In 2010 about 20 customers have found our home and it's nice to see and hear that our guests share the same great experience at the Costa Calida.

Hi Hans,
Our dream has become reality......a home for future holidays, rental and staying the winter in Spain. Andre en I had only talked about a house in the sun, but always concluded that it is difficult to start up such an activity because of theall the legal and other problems which we thought to encounter. During that time, a couple of friends had purchased a house in Mazarron and in June a colleague told me she was going to Spain to meet with Hans Kortekaas for arranging a home. Hans positively reacted on the fact that I wanted to be introduced. In Spain, Hans showed me around the park and the environment.

All the great stories i've heard were true! Hans was always very honest and I never had the feeling that I was pushed to making a decision. Even though Andre did not join me, we still made an offer on a Caprichio. We would never have done this without the help and knowledge of Hans. It just felt good and still does. For Hans nothing was too much...!!! Hans took care of all the financial procedure because we didn't have the time to stay in Mazarron. I have called him regularly when i had doubts, questions or requests and every time he was ready to guide and help us out. Since February 2010 we are proud owners and we look forward to spend the next summer holiday in our home!!! We hope to invite Hans anytime soon for a cup of coffee or a rose wine on our terrace in the Spanish sun.

In the summer of 2008, Hans has showed us the documentation of the homes on the Mazarron Country Club. In September of that same year, we went to Spain to look for ourselves. After seeing a couple of properties, we have chosen for a new house. The advantage was that we could still choose our own kitchen. Since April 2009 we are the proud owners of Casa Luz Solar. We have done some construction and added a swimming pool, which is a must when you have a villa like this and Spanish temperatures.

We have had a couple of holidays in our home already, but there is always something to do. At every visit we make it more attractive and we really like to show this to everybody; we put it up for rental. At the moment we have gathered friends who take care of our home at times we are not there. Michael does pool and garden maintenance, Bibi takes care of the interior, Andrew leads the odd jobs and Anouk and Cathy try to promote our home on foreign websites. You can find more information about our home and the environment on www.casamazarron.nl.

Our dream was to own a home in Spain, as for ten years we didn’t enjoy staying in hotels. We preferred to stay in beautiful houses, which gave us the idea of buying a home of our own in the Mediterranean. Wherever we travelled we would collect information regarding buying houses, and often spoke to the local brokers or salesmen. However, we did encounter problems due to the language barrier as some of them couldn’t speak English. This made it difficult for us to understand the many Spanish rules and laws. But then, in 2001, we met Mr. Hans Kortekaas. He invited us to visit the Mazarron Country Club. We agreed to travel from Javea where we were on holiday, to meet him at the Club.

When we arrived, the entrance of the Country Club had still not been finished and only approximately 30 houses had been built. Therefore, it was very difficult to decide if this was where we wanted to live when a further 1080 houses still needed to be built. Hans spent 3 days showing us around the park and the area and, with his expertise and guidance, we knew that we wanted to buy a house in this park. Our faith in Hans grew as he never pressured us to make a quick decision. Once back in Holland we looked at our financial situation and then went back to the park to rent a house. We took our time choosing the spot where we wanted our future home to be. Our dream came true. Our experience with Hans, guiding us through the whole procedure right up to the day we got the keys was excellent. Everything was arranged for us, and the financial and legal aspects were correctly and clearly explained to us. In November 2003 we got the keys to our home. Everything went perfectly for us and it couldn’t have been any better. The streets had not yet been asphalted, but we were notified beforehand so we knew when to expect it. We stay around 6 months a year in the Mazarron Country Club and the facilities in the park are growing all the time. We are just waiting for the golf course! There are plenty of amenities to choose from and it is up to you if you want to have contact with the neighbours. You can socialise in the bar/restaurant and swimming pool and sometimes a group of house-owners organise social meetings and excursions. Hans, our life is amazing at the Mazarron Country Club. Many thanks!

We love the sun and had fantasised for years about having our own home in a sunny country. But, like most people we thought we couldn’t fulfil this fantasy at our age, (30 and 36 years old). After many calculations of our finances, we accepted Han’s invitation to have a look at the Mazarron Country Club in Spain. During the weekend we viewed many houses with Hans Kortekaas all within our price range. Everything was fantastic but we couldn’t find our dream home. When we said goodbye to Hans Kortekaas he promised to call us as soon as he had a house for sale which met all our expectations. Two months later we got the phone call we had been waiting for. With a lot of anticipation we travelled to Spain.

The flight took 2 hours and 15 minutes and then an hour and 15 minute drive to the house. Hans Kortekaas had remembered all our expectations and it was love at first sight when we saw the house. Friends and family had advised us not to make any hasty decisions and to be extremely careful as there are many cheats in this industry, but that same weekend we decided to go ahead with this purchase. Due to the guidance and support we received from Hans Kortekaas we had no reservations regarding what we were about to do. (We were advised to take out a small mortgage in Spain so everything would be ok. The bank wouldn’t give us a mortgage if the papers of the house were not in order.) Since June 2005 we have enjoyed our Spanish home and have been there for holidays and many weekends. Our dream has come true through the know-how and enthusiasm of Hans Kortekaas.

Our goal was to invest in a property abroad, which we achieved last year after purchasing a property from Hans at the Mazarron Country Club. We intended to use this investment as our retirement fund as the property was certain to increase in value. Our first choice was to purchase a property in Portugal as we thought the property there was affordable and the people friendly. However, when we looked into it, we found that Portugal was very busy and expensive. Then a colleague told me that Hans Kortekaas - whom I knew from working in the flower bulbs; had started his own broker company specialising in Spain. I made an appointment with Hans and he asked what it was we were looking for, and he explained exactly what he did over in Spain.

We discussed the ideas, read some brochures and looked for some information on the internet, and after some consideration we decided to go over and have a look. The further we drove from Alicante the more we liked the area; from the beautiful bays and beaches to the Natural Park of Sierra Espuna close to the Mazarron Country Club. Caragena, Puerto de Mazarron and Bon Nuevo are all areas of interest and well worth a visit, even just for the typical Spanish cuisine at affordable prices. It is impossible to compare the Mazarron Country Club with other Spanish parks. Two months later we paid another visit to the Mazarron Country Club with a friend of ours who had never visited the park before. This friend had wanted to buy a house in Spain for a long time but hadn’t found anything suitable. We were all so impressed that we both decided to buy a house in the Mazarron Park. We hoped to reduce the monthly costs by putting the house up for rental and it worked better than we expected. We have Dutch friends on the park who take care of our house, give the keys to the tenants etc. and also take care of the general cleaning of the house and the swimming pool. Residents are of mixed nationalities so don’t think only Dutch people live here. Everything turned out better than we expected, especially after the stories you see on television or read in the newspapers. Some matters went differently to the way we had planned but nevertheless everything was arranged perfectly because of Hans. We feel that investing in a more expensive property in a beautiful park is more advantageous than just going for the cheapest option you can find. Unfortunately, these days there are still smooth talking people out there talking nonsense and offering ideal Spanish properties, which end up being a spare piece of land with very little potential.

We are Pieter and Marieke, both in our early thirties, and our dream was to move to Spain. Pieter needed a little persuasion, but it didn’t take him long to come around to the idea. During a trip to Andalusie we found the ideal location; the east coast, close to Cadiz. We visited a broker with a view to doing a ‘second-home exchange’, however, we were not taken seriously, as they thought we were too young. Shortly after this we met Hans Kortekaas who told us about the Mazarron Country Club. Hans informed us about the location of the park and we discussed the various styles of properties and different price ranges. We found Hans to be very professional and experienced.

We went away and researched the project further, and then visited several brokers to find out more about the properties and offers available. Finally we decided to pay a visit to the Mazarron Country Club, however, we wanted to make an impartial decision so we visited several other parks as well, with a Dutch broker who worked in the area. Our decision was instant once we had been to the Mazarron Country Club, this was the place we wanted to live. We choose Villa Antojo. Three years later, and our house is now complete. We are extremely pleased with the professional support we received throughout the purchase and the final result: a beautiful house in an amazing park and area. We are hoping to make the move to Spain next year.

My experience with Crossborder during the purchase and building of my house in Spain: Crossborder’s expertise and market knowledge is second to none, and the support they gave me during the purchase of my house was perfect. I found them to be much more professional and organised compared to other Spanish brokers that I had contact with. I had no problems with the language barrier as all the employees of Crossborder spoke excellent Spanish and also understood the differences between the two cultures. I wanted to be involved in the design and construction of my house so Crossborder assisted me in the communication between myself, the contractor and the pool manufacturer.
|
|
 |
|
They also confirmed the contractor’s schedule and that the quality of his work would be to the highest possible standard. I received regular updates on the progress of the construction of my house via pictures and e-mail. The staff had regular contact with the contractor so any queries were dealt with immediately and efficiently.

We met Hans Kortekaas at a presentation in Alkmaar and very soon afterwards found ourselves busy making plans to buy our dream holiday home in Spain. At the time we did not know Mazzarron and after a promotional weekend there we fell in love with the whole Spanish feel, the sun, the town of Mazzarron, the food and the people. Throughout the buying process Hans has always been there to answer queries and questions that have arisen. It is a very big step buying a second home and we believe ourselves lucky to have chosen Hans who has guided us safely and honestly through the buying process. Our villa was delivered in November 2005 and the excitement and reality of it is still sinking in. Thank you Hans.
